SUFI CIRCLE

Privacy Policy

Effective Date: October 5, 2026

Sufi Circle respects your privacy.

This Privacy Policy explains how Spiritual Leaders Institute, a California nonprofit corporation operating Sufi Circle (“Sufi Circle,” “Spiritual Leaders Institute,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), collects, uses, protects, and shares information when you visit our website, register for events, communicate with us, participate in our community, or otherwise interact with Sufi Circle.

1. Information We Collect

When you register or interact with Sufi Circle, we may collect information you voluntarily provide, including your name, email address, optional phone number, Instagram handle, how you heard about us, event registrations, communication preferences, media-consent choices, Instagram-tagging permission, partner-sharing preferences, and messages you send to us.

If you make a donation, the payment may be processed by a third-party provider such as Zeffy. We may receive donation information or transaction confirmation from that provider, but payment-card information is handled directly by the payment provider.

Our website may also automatically receive standard technical information such as IP address, browser or device information, referring pages, approximate location derived from technical data, pages viewed, and interaction data through cookies, analytics, or similar technologies where those technologies are enabled.

2. How We Use Your Information

We may use your information to register you for Sufi Circle gatherings, send confirmations and event details, provide requested email or text reminders, communicate schedule or location changes, operate the Sufi Circle community, provide future Sufi Circle invitations and updates, respond to questions, manage donations, improve our events and website, understand how people discover Sufi Circle, maintain records of permissions and consent, protect participants and our systems, and comply with applicable legal obligations.

We limit our use of personal information to purposes reasonably related to why it was collected or to other purposes to which you consent.

3. Email Communications

When you register for an event, we may send emails reasonably related to your registration, including confirmation, location information, reminders, changes, and follow-up information.

We may also send Sufi Circle news or future-event information where permitted by law.

Every promotional email will include a way to unsubscribe, and we will honor unsubscribe requests promptly.

4. Text Messages

If you provide a phone number and separately opt in to text messages, we may send Sufi Circle event reminders, last-minute updates, or other communications covered by your consent. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.

Providing a phone number alone does not opt you in to text messages, and agreeing to receive texts is not a condition of attending any event.

You may withdraw text-message consent at any time by replying STOP to any message. Reply HELP for help.

We do not share mobile phone numbers or text-message consent with third parties or partners for their marketing purposes.

5. Trusted Conscious-Community Partners

We may collaborate with other spiritual teachers, conscious-community organizations, venues, nonprofits, event partners, or aligned organizations.

We will not share your personal contact information with trusted partners for their independent marketing unless you have separately opted in to that sharing.

If you opt in, we may share the information described in the relevant consent, which is limited to your name and email address unless the consent says otherwise, so that the identified or described partner can send you information, invitations, or opportunities consistent with that consent.

Once information has been shared with an independent partner at your request, that partner may process the information under its own privacy policy.

You may withdraw future partner-sharing permission by contacting us.

6. We Do Not Sell Your Personal Information

We do not sell your personal information.

We do not rent or trade your registration information to data brokers or third parties for payment.

Partner sharing described above occurs only where you have opted in.

7. Service Providers

We may provide information to trusted vendors and service providers that help us operate Sufi Circle, such as website hosting providers, CRM systems, email providers, SMS platforms, event-registration systems, analytics providers, donation and payment processors, cloud-storage providers, and technical contractors.

These providers may process information as necessary to perform services for us and are not being given your information so that they can independently market unrelated products to you.

8. Event Partners and Logistics

Where reasonably necessary to organize or safely operate an event, limited information may be shared with an event host, venue, facilitator, contractor, or partner for purposes such as registration verification, scheduling, logistics, safety, or event administration.

We will seek to limit such sharing to information reasonably necessary for that purpose.

9. Photography, Video, and Media

If you provide media consent, photographs, video, audio, or other recordings involving you may be processed and used according to the applicable consent.

Media-consent choices are recorded separately from marketing permissions.

Instagram tagging is also treated as a separate permission. Providing an Instagram handle does not by itself mean you have consented to being tagged.

10. Legal and Safety Disclosures

We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with applicable law, legal process, or lawful governmental requests; protect the safety or rights of participants or others; investigate fraud, abuse, security incidents, or violations of our policies; or protect our organization and systems.

11. Information Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, loss, or misuse.

No website, database, transmission method, or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

If a security incident affects your personal information, we will notify you as required by applicable law.

12. Data Retention

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, including maintaining event and consent records, operating the community, satisfying accounting or legal obligations, resolving disputes, or protecting legitimate organizational interests.

Different categories of information may be retained for different periods.

When information is no longer reasonably needed, we may delete, anonymize, or securely archive it as appropriate.

13. Your Choices

You may contact us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information we hold about you, subject to applicable legal requirements and legitimate record-retention needs.

You may also ask us to update your contact preferences, stop promotional emails, withdraw future partner-sharing permission, or withdraw certain consent prospectively.

Withdrawal of a consent generally does not undo actions already lawfully taken in reliance on the consent before it was withdrawn. For example, we may not be able to retrieve every photograph or publication that was already distributed before a media consent was withdrawn.

14. Do Not Track

Our website does not currently respond to browser “Do Not Track” signals. Third-party tools on our website, such as analytics or embedded services, may collect information about your online activity over time and across websites.

15. Children’s Privacy

Our online registration experience is not directed to children under 13.

We do not knowingly collect online personal information from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent.

If minors are permitted at an event, registration and consent requirements may differ, and a parent or legal guardian may be required to act on the minor’s behalf.

16. Third-Party Websites and Apps

Our website or communications may link to services operated by other organizations, including Telegram, Zeffy, Instagram, Eventbrite, mapping services, or other platforms.

Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, not this Privacy Policy.

17. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as Sufi Circle develops or as our practices or legal obligations change.

The “Effective Date” above identifies the current version.

Material changes will be posted on our website, and where appropriate we will notify you by email.
